I like your melting pots - the nosey in me can't resist. I wonder what you will make of '253'... I wasn't too sure.

Hmmmm "253". It is back on a library shelf. It's not often I abandon a book in the first 50 pages. However, having so many characters did me in!! It's just not my cup of tea. Very demanding to keep track of. I think it's a great idea, but not suited to my reading long stretches at a time and then mulling things over before returning for another luxurious read.

I know what you mean about '253' - the idea was better than the execution.

I've just finished his 'Was' - based on 'The Wizard of Oz' and really enjoyed it, a much better novel all round.

Have you read 'Haweswater' by Sarah Hall - I finished it recently and think you might like it?
